A brief description:
Part 1- Includes identifying stroke symptoms and cranial nerve assessment,Aspiration Pneumonia during enteral feeding. Understanding meningitis and SAH and assessment of seizures, falls and pain.
Part 2 - includes recognizing ARDS, indications for CPR, chest pain assessment, identifying CHF or cardiogenic shock, postoperative pneumonia and DVT, identifying pneumothorax/hemothorax, assessment of electrolyte imbalances, assessment of liver and renal failure, anasarca, and sepsis, IV therapy, tube feeding and aspiration pneumonia.
Part 3 - Assessment of DVT, IV and anticoagulation therapy, blood transfusion, assessment of hypovolemic shock, assessment of insulin reaction, hypoglycemia and assessment of hypothermia

Signs and symptoms include, but are not confined to: tumors, constipation, Crohn’s Disease.
ESOPHAGEAL VARICES
Esophageal varices occur as a complication of liver failure.
